Method Gallery

Gallery

A sculptural, layered composition inspired by contemporary craft. Large overlapping material planes arranged diagonally across the frame, with depth and shadow creating quiet tension. One subtle circular metallic form partially concealed beneath the layers. Textures are tactile and imperfect. Hand-thrown ceramic clay with visible finger grooves. Brushed oxidised steel with natural patina. Hammered brass with soft dimples. Raw linen canvas carrying thick oil paint strokes. Carved dark walnut with fine tool marks. Edges feel torn, fractured, and organic rather than clean cut. Surfaces are matte and natural. No gloss. The light is soft, diffused, directional. Overcast northern daylight with gentle shadow fall-off. Tonal depth is calm and restrained. The palette is neutral and earthy. Chalk white, iron grey, oxidised green, warm umber, deep charcoal. Minimal. Intelligent. Museum-grade. No text. No logos.

1. Opening Position

Method Gallery was founded on the belief that the act of making carries equal weight to the finished work.

In an era of image saturation and accelerated consumption, the process is often obscured. The gallery exists to slow that down.

We present contemporary artists through documentation of method, not simply presentation of outcome.
